‘Fitting In’ at Z33, House for Contemporary Art, Design & Architecture in Hasselt, Belgium gathers artists, (fashion) designers and activists to explore the concept of identity, asking ‘how do we find our place in today’s world, where we are surrounded by so many voices at once?’.
Curated by Annelies Thoelen, Branko Popovic and Marnix Rummens, the works by cutting-edge practitioners celebrate a new kind of liquid identity and, in doing so, break down all barriers between visual art, fashion, design and activism.
Amongst those on show is Footwear Research Network friend and contributor Jo Cope, whose collaborative project with British homeless charity Shelter uses shoes to explore the experience of homelessness.
